Thanks for your comment and for the compliment on this image. I thought about taking this particular shot on Sunday afternoon after shooting the image of the moonrise over the field, so after I got home from work, I drove a short distance and spent about 10 minutes getting several images, including this one. For this particular shot, I used a Sigma 400mm lens. Of all the lenses I own, it's the only lens not made by Nikon, and the only non-Nikon lens I will ever own. It's absolutely one of the sharpest lenses I've put on a camera, regardless of whose label is on the lens cap. Thanks again for your comment.

Thanks for the comment. Believe it or not, the color is natural. There were some high cirrus clouds that didn't begin to change hue until after the sun dropped below the horizon. The clouds that appear red in the image were actually a very light bluish gray until the moon rose to a point just above them. That's when the color change occurred. This was definitely a case of being in the right place at the right time. I appreciate your comment. Thanks again.
Oh i trust that it was natural color. I love those shots where you're in the right place at the right time.

Thanks very much for the comment. I used a monopod for this shot, since I was in the car at the time and didn't have a great place to set up a tripod. I think it worked out, all the same...
Stunning capture, wow... the full moon looks absolutely amazing, has a lovely glow to it and still with a good amount of detail as well. What I also really love is the red/magenta of the clouds there, quite special and the tree silhouette is another nice added touch. This is so much more than just another shot up at the moon

Thank you very much. I'm pleased that you like the image. I like taking images of the moon at it's various stages, and this one was particularly nice. If the weather ever cooperates again, I'll have more to post. Thanks again.

Next week i'll have free time and maybe i'll take some photos of the moon...
I've tried to photograph the moon, but I've never been successful...probably because I never had my tripod with me...
Thanks again for the comment.
