Whenever I spend time shooting nature and wildlife, I learn something. Sometimes it's learning a new shooting technique or a different way to shoot a species or habitat.

Today, I learned about dedication.

These two Eastern Bluebirds have a nest in my back yard. Inside, they have a few chicks that are constantly hungry. These two little birds flew around my yard nearly constantly all afternoon, gathering insects and feeding the chicks. They stuck close to each other, and never far from their nest, protecting their chicks and each other as they gathered food. I never saw either one of them eat anything that they caught, taking the food to their chicks instead. It was amazing to watch this mated pair as they worked together for themselves and for their family. They are completely dedicated to each other.

Today, nature was definitely the teacher.

Love how you have both male and female in this shot. Also having them on two different levels is a great dynamic. Is that your birdfeeder stand? The hummingbird cutout is cute. :D

Thanks! I'm glad you like it. Yes, these two were perched on my birdfeeder stand. I waited most of the afternoon to capture them this anyway.
