I know what You mean by horror stories. I almost got arrested by the law a week ago for trying to shoot a train. I thought it would never happened to me until I found out that it did.

So far I haven't had a lot of problems. I stay on public property, so I'm usually left alone.

I don't shoot the Yazoo Sub very often simply because it doesn't offer me a lot of options. The north-south alignment makes it difficult to get decent images, and the traffic levels are so low that I don't see much there when I do go. This one was shot right after sunrise, and after two passed, the line was silent for several hours.

Thanks! I've heard about the curve at Wyatt and I've seen several more on the Yazoo Sub that require shooting, but I never can seem to catch a train there when the light is "right".

There's a few more curves come to mind in the State of Mississippi: Walls, Savage, Darling, Falcon, Glendora, Philipp, Money, Wyatt (already mentioned), Eden, Mileston, Bee Lake, Lake View (near the Mississippi-Tennessee Border), Mileston and the List goes on and on.

Hi Neil,

Thank you very much for your comment about the shot of the CN Empty Grain Train. I appreciate it very much. I photographed local railroads ceaselessly until 9/11. After 9/11, it was all over for me. I haven't pointed a camera at a railroad related subject since then. The hassle of shooting railroads and the horror stories that other fans have passed my way have convinced me to give up railroad photography. Anyway, I checked out your page, and it was very nice. You've got some great work there, and I like the way that you take an unconventional view of a conventional subject. Thanks again for visiting. I'll be posting more images soon, including railroad related subjects from the past.

Best Regards,

Dan

Thank you Dan. I know about security too, and it hurts. I haven't been able to get good shots in Cajon Pass since before 9-11. However, the Tehachapi Loop area is open, so that's good. We'll see what happens.
